“Hope at the Center: Poetry Show” debuted my collection by the same name in a multimedia performance at (SCENE) Metrospace of East Lansing, Michigan, in April 2010. The show now can be heard on the sidebar Audio Player! Also available are photos on Flickr.
The Michigan Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence was my event partner. The post “Hope is coming” talks about how we teamed up. The show broke even expense-wise, and media coverage helped spread the word about Sexual Assault Awareness Month. See the post “Grateful this April” for more details.
The experience collaborating with MCADSV, as well as past events with other agencies, inspires me to continue bringing poetry and community together.
