Chazuta Journey

Here’s the second gallery from Peru! As part of my residency at Sachaqa Centro de Arte, I returned to Chazuta (San Martin province) in January for a longer stay to learn from the papermaking artesanas. It was wonderful to document the four-day process, especially since my physical participation was limited due to illness. Large sheets made that week are key to my new installation in progress. Stay tuned for details about how you can order your very own handmade paper from these talented and hardworking artistas! Also check out the concluding photos of the Chazuta-Yacu River, artisanal chocolate in process, and my collage session with a local family whose welcome made the trip even more special.

Can’t wait to see this paper. It would be great to source it via Etsy!
